Formerly the First Baptist Church of Bushwick, the Greene Avenue Baptist Church was established on April 15, 1854. The church moved three times in its 96 years of existence. The first place of worship was on Bushwick Avenue in a private home. From 1884 to 1888, Warner's Hall was used for church functions and gatherings.
